Mainland China lottery sales jump 9 pct in April
Sales of official lottery products in mainland China rose 9.0% in April from the previous year, according to data from China’s finance ministry.
The finance ministry said Wednesday that total April sales were nearly 41.71 billion yuan ($6.5 billion). Welfare lottery sales rose 5.3% year-on-year to 19.91 billion yuan and sports lottery sales rose 12.7% to 22 billion yuan.
In the first four months of 2018, total sales of lottery products rose 9.3% year-on-year to about 145.88 billion yuan. In the four months to April 30, welfare lottery sales totaled 71.96 billion yuan, up 2.7% year-on-year, and sports lottery sales rose 16.5% year-on-year to 73.92 billion yuan.
In April, sales rose in 26 of the 31 provinces and cities in mainland China that were authorized to sell lottery tickets. Guangdong Province, which had the highest combined sales of welfare and sports lottery tickets last year, saw its April sales rise 5.7 percent year-on-year.
Guangdong continues to be the leading lottery market in mainland China. Combined sales of welfare and sports lottery tickets reached nearly 14.22 billion yuan in the January-April period, up 10.2% from a year ago. 카지노사이트
Guangdong followed, with Jiangsu seeing total lottery sales of about 11.98 billion yuan, up 15.2% year-on-year. China’s eastern province of Shandong came in third with lottery sales of about 10.98 billion yuan in the first four months of 2018, up 2.0% year-on-year, according to official data.
