Robbie Ray gets a win on his return.

San Francisco Giants left-handed starter Ray pitched well against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on the 25th (Korea time) with eight strikeouts and one run in five innings. He became the winning pitcher with his team’s 8-3 victory.

Ray was traded from the Seattle Mariners to San Francisco in January while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Today’s appearance was not only his return from injury, but also his debut for the Giants.

He struggled early because the mound was unfamiliar for the first time in a long time. He loaded the bases with two walks and two walks in the first inning, allowing two wild pitches in the process. He then walked Andy Pazr and gave up a run.
That’s where the anxiety ended. He got out of trouble, striking out Miguel Vargas with a swing and miss and Chris Taylor with a fly ball to first base.

Starting with striking out all three batters in the second inning, not a single player was allowed to get on base until the fifth inning.

Citing “Elias Sports,” “MLB Dotcom” introduced Ray’s appearance as the longest no-hitter attempt in his Giants debut since 1961, the expansion period.

Prior to that, Juan Marishal did not allow a hit in 7 2/3 innings in his 1960 debut.

San Francisco’s batters responded to Matt Chapman’s solo home run in the fourth inning, followed by Tyrrell Fitzgerald’s double and Mike Yastrzemski’s single for a 2-1 back.

In the eighth inning, he scored a lot of runs and took a breather.

Dodgers starter Tyler Glass suffered a loss by allowing four hits, one homer, four walks, four strikeouts and two runs in five innings in his return to injury.

Chris Taylor broke the no-hitter with a double in the bottom of the seventh inning, but he is expected to be out and on the injured list due to a strain on his groin muscles.
